I can not say enough regarding the wonderful job Barry and Betty provided in helping me and my wife purchase our home. We flew into San Diego with less than one week to find an area to live in, and narrow down on the home of our dreams. We discussed our needs prior to our arrival, and found that Barry clearly understood what we were looking for. For the first three days, Barry showed us a smattering of homes in the four areas he thought would best meet our needs. Once we located the neighborhood we were most interested in, Barry showed us a range of houses that both fit within our budget but also met our needs as a growing family.
The genius of this broker is that he genuinely understood every aspect of the houses we looked at. Not only could he tell us about the scripted details of each home, but he explained every detail of how the house fit (or didn’t fit) into our expectations. He explained every history of every neighborhood we saw. Barry had a strong grasp of everything from the soil the house was built on to the expectations for neighborhood growth over the following ten years. He backed up his explanations with solid data, and gave us his honest opinions about the houses we were interested in.
Once we found a couple of houses we liked, Barry really went to work. His goal was to get up the best possible price on the unit, and he did this with ferocious tenacity. Although he maintained the highest level of integrity throughout his dealings, he also knew when to push and when to sit back so that the negotiations always went in our favor. Again, he would explain his approach and thinking with every aspect of the deal.
As soon as the house went into ESCROW, Betty’s dedication became key in finalizing the purchase process. She was active in helping us achieve financing, and always worked to make sure things moved forward seamlessly and efficiently. It was not uncommon for Betty to contact us in the middle of the night (San Diego time), to make sure that documents that time sensitive documents were signed during our business hours in Japan.
In the end, we bought a beautiful house at the best possible price. We were able to found the home we desired, and have an accepted offer in less than one week. We were able to close escrow in 45 days living overseas and requiring a sizable jumbo loan. I honestly believe that no other real estate agent in the area would have been able to assist us with this as Barry and Betty did. I recommend them without reservation for any home purchase. (less)
